ClearCase UCM Support for Ranorex Studio : Bug Reports

Hi,

the company I'm working already use ClearCase (it is a company-wide agreement over several locations) and wants to start with Testautomation. Until the Release of Ranorex 3.0 we had decided to write our testcases with Visual Studio (because of the integration with ClearCase), but the new features like Testsuite-View and Datadriven execution are really good.
With this situation we have to make a new decision...

Are there any plans to support Clear Case UCM in a future release of Ranorex?

Hello Anja,

in the Ranorex Studio currently there is no plan to support ClearCase.

But note that the project in Ranorex Studio is a Visual Studio Project. You can open this with Visual Studio 2008 and 2010 (latter with conversion). If you have Clearcase integration in Visual Studio you can use it this way. In the same way one could also use Team Foundation Server.

Though: Clearcase has a good Windows File Explorer plugin. So you probably don't need to go via VS.

Whatever SCM you use: all files in a Ranorex project are text files and these can be well compared to previous version of the files.
