Hi all!
In parallel we have contacted the Ranorex Support regarding this issue, but we are currently urgently searching for a solution.
We have been trying to upgrade Ranorex Studio and Ranorex License Server from version 5.2.x to 5.3.x several weeks ago (currently we have installed version 5.4.1). While the connection to the license server (floating license installed) is possible with Ranorex Studio version 5.2.x, it is no longer possible with version 5.3.x or higher.
When connecting to it, we get this error message:
"The License Manager ... was contacted, but no suitable license was available. Please add additional licenses to your License Manager or wait until licenses become available."
In fact a free license IS available.
TCP and UDP port 7266 is open at the license server computer. If we downgrade to a Ranorex Studio version 5.2.x, we can connect to the license server. But any Ranorex Studio version 5.3.x or higher cannot connect to it and receives this error message.
We have currently installed license server 5.4.1.
Can anybody give advice on this issue?
What is different when connection with newer Ranorex Studio versions?
Are there any new specific software requirements regarding the license server machine?

Are you sure the license is also valid for Ranorex 5.3? The error message means that the license server could indeed be contacted, but does not have any free valid licenses available.bru wrote:In fact a free license IS available
You can easily check that using the Ranorex License Server/Manager Tool by looking at the "Subscription" column. The subscription date of a license key needs to be "02/2015" or later to be a valid key for Ranorex 5.3.
If you have a valid subscription, be sure that the newest license key is installed on the server (you get a new key every time you renew your subscription).

Our IT did not update the license key, although I had expected that they had done so ...

I have the same issue,
I have Ranorex 5.4.4 and my subscription ended at the 14/07/2016.
Do I have to renew it? for now I need to succeed in the POC to my managers in order to get budget to renew it.

With your license Ranorex should work. It seems you are having a different issue. We are already in contact with you via email, I would prefer choosing one communication channel to work on the issue.
