No webdocument/dom for firefox

Postby gmartin78 » Wed Oct 13, 2010 5:28 pm

I'm running spy/element browser in Ranorex 2.3.4.9270 and pages I open in Firefox 3.6.10 show up as Form only. There is not DOM/webdocument in the object tree. Internet Explorer 8.0.6001.18702 works fine and is available in the spy/element browser tools as both a Form and a DOM/webdocument object. All tests I've written against Firefox are now failing. Assistance in resolving this would be greatly appreciated.

Please check if the Add-Ons for Firefox is available. It seem the plug-in is not installed, therefore you get the MSAA objects of the browser and not the expected DOM objects. If the Add-On is not available, please close all browser currently running on your machine and repair the Ranorex Installation. Also check if you have the latest Firefox installed on your machine.

This Add-On should be available to automate Firefox with DOM Objects

I re-installed the plug-in and it now works fine. This had been installed previously, but after updating to the latest Ranorex and Firefox it was missing. Is this a common issue?

Hi,

Ranorex is not able to install the Firefox Plug-In if Firefox is not installed on your computer. Therefore you have to repair the installation and then the Plug-In will be installed. But this is only when you first install Ranorex and then Firefox.
