Ranorex 3.0.5 support for .NET Framewor 4.0 Applications

Postby Satyendra Pullaji » Fri May 04, 2012 12:24 pm

Hi All,

We have windows application which is implemented on .NET Framework 4.0. We are using the Ranorex.Control method InvokeRemotely() in some situations. But the method is not getting called.

However similar method is calling and working as expected when we using the same test script on our previous application version which is implemented on .NET Framework 2.0.

Please someone reply whether the Ranorex 3.0.5 or 3.2.3 supports the .NET Framework 4.0 windows applications to use the InvokeRemotely() method in code modules.

Thanks & Regards,
Satyendra Pullaji.

Automating .NET 4.0 WinForms applications is fully supported since Ranorex 3.0.0, consequently, both versions you mentioned support the requested feature.

Do you get any technology limitation or other warnings when running your automation?
Please, make sure that you have gone through the WinForms troubleshooting guide, especially reason #5 and #6 (your automation executable needs to have an app.config with the correct content):
