slow response time when posting on forum : General Questions

Hi,

Quite often when I am navigating around the forum (viewing posts, creating new posts etc) the response time from the website is very slow. For example, it took approximately 5 mins for me to view a preview of and then submit my last post. There were no attachments associated with the post. Are you aware of this slow performance or able to reproduce it?

We've never heard of such a lag of our web-server. Maybe the server was shortly busy when you've hit the preview button. Did you check also if your provider maybe had some issue during this time-span?

The slow performance I have been experiencing is inconsistent. For example, when attempting to log in, the website sometimes hangs. But then if I close my browser and start again, the response is instant and I can log in without any delay.

There wasn't a particular time when I experienced the slow performance issues. It's just something I've noticed has been happening on and off on the last few occasions that i've been navigating around the forum.

I'll keep an eye on it over the next week or so and see if I can gather a bit more information for you (e.g. what browsers it's happening with, what times of the day it happens and what I was trying to do on the website at the time.

I was just interested to know if you were aware of any slow performance issues that would explain what I was experiencing but it doesn't sound like it.

Hi,

I can't remember which specific browser I was using each time it happened (it would either have been firefox 8 or IE 8 though as I don't tend to use safari or chrome much).

What I can say is that this morning, whilst using firefox, it took about 2 mins for the ranorex forum homepage to download completely. pages on the forum were taking longer than normal to refresh. E.g. I clicked on a forum link and the page title came up quickly but the page content didn't immediately follow and ended up hanging for about 1 minute (see attached screenshot). However, it is quite typical that when I perform the same action again, all the page content appears straight away. That's why I described the slow performance as inconsistent because most of the time it is very quick but, from time to time for some reason, pages start hanging and performances start to slow down.

It's just happened this morning whilst using IE as well so it doesn't seem like the issue is browser related.

From our side there is no problem - lets say it in this way, we never had any problem, and there were no problems reported so far.

Please try it from another host in your network as well.
