sooo what's the story with IronPython?

I mean... it is mentioned as supported but all examples are given for C# and VB.net only; also there are only very few posts regarding it.

All the best,

I know it looks like I'm posting silly questions because of boredom, heat or lack of something better to do, but I assure you, it’s not the case.

I could really use a (more or less) official comment on the IronPython issue: is it supported but not so widely used (because of… whatever), is it planned to be dropped in the future, is it… I don’t know - please give me something here!

All the best,
D.

Hi,

I unfortunately have to say that we have stopped to support Python since Ranorex 3.X!
But you can still use Ranorex libraries in your Python projects but the recorder doesn’t
create Python code any more and we also generate no more Pyhton projects.

Markus

Exactly the information I needed :)
Thank you, Markus!

Maybe a clear statement about this should be made on one of the main pages – just to avoid confusion.

As Markus already said, IronPython code is no longer generated by Ranorex since version 3.0. However, you can still use IronPython to access Ranorex assemblies written in C# or VB.Net - it is just that Ranorex will not generate IronPython code any more.

IronPython support should not be mentioned on our web site any more since 3.0 (except in old forum posts, but we don't want to change those posts). If it is still mentioned anywhere, then this is by mistake and please drop a note here :)
