Threads on Program.cs

Hello ppl i need a hand to solve a problem.I need to do the code bellow to control the method Recording1.Start
but the problem is if i do that when a certain validation fails the test hangs and i need to close it. The problem is that this way my test didn't get the Ranorex default catchs bellow. How can i solve this?

I think that in one thread no try-catch block is present and therefore no exceptions is thrown.
