Upcoming Ranorex 2.2 Features and Firefox support

Mozilla Firefox Plug-In

Based on the flexible plug-in mechanism, the Ranorex tool set functionality grows constantly, and is now capable of identifying web applications in Firefox version 3.0 and 3.5. Unique identification of web elements, enables execution of the same test scripts in Internet Explorer and Firefox.

Firefox Plug-In Features:
  • Automated testing of Web 2.0, AJAX, Flash/Flex and
    Silverlight in Firefox
  • Execute existing Ranorex test projects, already created for Internet Explorer, also now within Firefox (with little or no modifications)

Ranorex Recorder Enhancements

The powerful Ranorex Recorder has been enhanced with the following new features:
  • Global shortcut keys have been added, which allow the recording of mouse movements and for validating tooltips
  • Image based recording for owner drawn controls
For controls containing UI elements that cannot be identified directly by Ranorex Spy, one can now use an image based location approach instead of relative coordinates, to specify a click position.
Example: The individual dates in the calendar control are identified by an image based approach.
