Hi Support Team,
We have issue in identifying objects irrespective of Application (Web/desktop/WPF). When we Track object from Spy the 1st object where mouse is moved is highlighted , but later nothing is identified. Same issue happens when we try to record the actions.
BUT if we use Shortcut to spy the Object (ie., Ctrl+LWin), objects were identified and added to repository without issue. Can you please suggest what could be the reason for this kind of behavior.
Note:
If we spy with admin rights then its working properly, but as per company policy we are not suppose to have admin privilege
In some of the other machines object identification is working fine without admin rights also.
Ranorex 5.4.3 is used in all the machines and with Win 7 machines (16 GB RAM).
Regards,
Kiruthika

Re: 1st object is identified when spied later nothing identified
Ranorex 5.4.3 is no longer supported.
Update to 7.2.1 or 8.0.0 and see if the problem still exists.
Otherwise, you will likely not receive any meaningful support.

Shortcuts usually aren't...

Re: 1st object is identified when spied later nothing identified
Hello Kiruthika,
This problem could be an indicator for a too low value of the “LowLevelHooksTimeout”.
Are you able to edit registry values on the machines where it does not work? If yes, then please perform the following steps:
1. Open the Registry Editor (Regedit.exe).
2. Navigate to “HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop”.
3. Add a new “DWORD (32-bit)”.
4. Name: “LowLevelHooksTimeout”.
5. Value: “5000”, “Decimal”.
6. Apply the changes.
7. Reboot your machine.
I hope this helps.
If this does not resolve the issue, then please do create a support ticket so that we can investigate the issue. You can create the ticket via our support form: Support Form
Sincerely,
Tomaž

Re: 1st object is identified when spied later nothing identified
Thanks Tomaz.
After trying below steps also I am not able to identify the Objects. Still only the first object is identified.
Note: I also notice strange behavior, If I share my screen with others through MS Lync and give them control, then that person can able to identify all the objects without any issue.
any idea?
