Android App crashes with PID: 20777 SIG: 9 after I instrument it in Ranorex 8.3

Post by In_bam_boo » Fri Nov 23, 2018 7:28 am

I am really new to this stuff so I'll be stupid as hell in describing what the heck is going on. I instrumented APK in Ranorex studio so I could do auto-tests on it. Before instrumentation APP works as it is, but after instrumentation APK stops working properly and just started crashing with no messages and stuff. I went to Android Studio and checked out what in the APP logs:

Code: Select all

Hi,

I'm afraid, it's impossible to tell what's wrong without seeing the APK. I would suggest to consult this error with your Android devs. Eventually, conatct Ranorex support (via their support form) and request remote session with them, so they can see the problem online and eventually suggest a solution.

Also, yesterday, Ranorex support mentioned a potential bug in APKTool, used for decompling/compiling APK files. It may not be related to your issue, but it's probably worth a try older version of APKtool? Check this post:

Well, in this case, you need to discuss it with your devs and/or Ranorex folks. As mentioned, there is nothing anyone here can do without seeing the problematic apk file.
