Cant recognize Navigation Drawer elements in Android

Post by pakosteve » Thu Nov 27, 2014 4:07 pm

Dear Support!

Im evaluating the Ranorex testing tool and for first try I'm try to create some basic login, go through the menu, logout testcase (which I already implemented in a similar tool recently).
My test application is the Telekom application (webs://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=hu.telekom.telekomapp , apk here: web://apps.evozi.com/apk-downloader/?id=hu.telekom.telekomapp).

I just found a problem, that the application's menu contains Navigation Drawer element (webs://developer.android.com/design/patterns/navigation-drawer.html), and your tool somehow can not reckognize it, even the menus have ids as well.

Could you please help me, if there is any solution to click on the menu with automation, as it would be critical for my company!

ps: webs = https, web = http...
Regards
Balázs

Hello pakosteve,

Welcome to Ranorex.

In order to make the menu accessible, please do the following:

Open the Advanced Instrumentation Settings dialog by clicking the Advanced button.

Please disable "Tree simplification". The UI-trees will remain unchanged, this means no post processing will take place, resulting in larger UI-trees.
