At the moment it doesn't seem to be possible to convert an item in the repository to a rooted folder and vice versa.
Did I just miss this option or do you plan this feature in the near future?
Without this option it is a roundabout way to build up the repository if you would like to define a child for an element which is an item. I've to create a new rooted folder, name it not the same like the item, copy the path from the item, update all references, delete the item and rename the new rooted folder. Then I can define a child for it.

Re: convert items to folders in repository and vice versa
Hello,
Unfortunately, it's currently not possible to convert an item to a rooted folder within the repository.
There is a better way for your use case.
You could create an empty rooted folder, drag & drop your items into this folder and select 'Optimize Folder Path' for the rooted folder.
Regards,
Markus (T)
