CS0246: Missing reference in Ranorex 4.0.5

Post by Mark Klamt » Tue Jul 30, 2013 2:45 pm

Dear support team,

while trying to migrate our test solution from Ranorex version 3.2.3 to the new 4.0.5, we are encountering an error in assembly references.

In a project, we are trying to access a code module of another project of the same solution, which is correctly added to the references. This works perfectly in version 3.2.3 of the test automation suite, however when building the solution in version 4.0.5, we receive a CS0246 error (missing using directive/assembly reference), even though the project setup and source files are identical.

In addition to that, it seems that in a project, you can add the same assembly reference several times with version 4.0.5.

Kind regards,
Mark Klamt

Hi,

Are you sure all of your projects use the Ranorex assemblies of the current version? Maybe you forgot to migrate one?
Could you please also post the full error code?

It is possible to add assemblies more times, I will forward this issue to our internal tracking system.

Regards,
Markus

Hi,

I just removed and re-included all Ranorex assemblies, then re-added the missing project assembly. Now the build is running fine. Thanks for the hint!

Regards,
Mark
