Error 1053: The service did not respond [...]

Post by Florian » Wed Apr 03, 2013 8:38 am

Hi,

I have this issue sometimes when I try to restart the Ranorex service:
Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion
If I try to reboot the computer, it doesn't solve the problem. The only way I have is to launch RanorexLicenseServer-x.x.x.exe and click on "Repair". After this, I can restart the service.

Do you know why I encounter such an issue?

Hi,

There might be several reasons for this issue.
Is it possible to disable your firewall and your security software for test purposes?
Could you please also check if there are any messages within the Windows Event Viewer after you tried to start the service?
Are you always logged in as administrator?

Regards,
Markus

Hi,

Unfortunately I can't disable Firewall.
I encounter the issue again today. I only installed Windows updates and reboot the computer. Once logged in again, I was not able to launch the service.

Sorry, this screenshot is in French:

Hello,

Please try to uninstall License Server completely, restart your computer and install our current version of License Server. Please download it from our Download Archive and install it with setup.exe.

By the way, which Windows version do you use?

Thank you in advance.

Regards,

We are using Windows Serveur 2008 R2 Standard 64bits
We will change this computer to a 32bits Windows Server. Thus I will reinstall the license server from the beginning. I hope it will helps.

I'll keep you informed if we are still impacted by this issue.

Many thanks.

Hello,

Thank you for your info.

Please not that you need to be logged in as Administrator since administrative rights might not be enough.
Please make sure that port 7266 (TCP and UDP) is open on your firewall.
