Error after checking out a project with git

Post by OfferistaGroup » Wed Aug 02, 2017 3:00 pm

Hey folks,

we're pretty new to Ranorex and encountered a problem after checking out our proof of concept on a second machine.

We created a new project with some recording modules on machine#1 and added it (the whole project) to source control.

On machine #2, we checked out the project from this repository, added a new endpoint and tried to run the testcases. Instead, an error occured:

Code: Select all

Compile Error:Die Metadatendatei 'C:\Users\{username}\Documents\Ranorex\RanorexStudio Projects\App-Testing\Android-App\bin\Debug\Android-App.exe' konnte nicht gefunden werden.
- C:\Users\{username}\Documents\Ranorex\RanorexStudio Projects\App-Testing\Android-App\bin\Debug\OnboardingSet3Stores.Runner.exe
What went wrong?

If you need more information, we're glad to provide details.
Thanks in advance!

Hi,

May I ask you to run your Ranorex Studio with administrative privileges and rebuild your Ranorex Solution on your second machine? Maybe you have to less privileges to start your *.exe file. I had a similar issue, which was resolved with this approach.

Sincerely,
asdf

Thanks asdf,

the administrator privileges were granted for both machines right from the start.

On our machines, the problem turned out to be a conflict between the .NET framework version installed (4.7 which came with Windows 10 Creators Update) and the latest Ranorex version.
What solved our problem today was installing the VS Community Edition. Alternatively, the Ranorex support suggested a fresh install of Windows, which was no option for us at that time.

Thanks for answering and all the best!
