We are currently using Ranorex version 9.1.0 and we are trying to launch a Chrome browser through our solution.
We often encounter the popup window with the following error message:
"Failed to load extension from: C:\Program Files (x86)\Ranorex\Studio\Bin\Runtime\Ranorex Chrome Extension. Ranorex Automation (extension ID "egdlgaljianpgdlmfijpphbadibfncdm") is blocked by the administrator."
We tried to uninstall the plugin via Ranorex instrumentation wizard, and then install it back several times. The issue is generally fixed by doing so...until the next time the popup appears.
Is there another workaround we can use in order to have a clean environment on our machines?

With recent changes and features, you can now keep a clean environment for your tests. It is no longer required to install Ranorex on a machine or manually instrument a browser to run a test. The browser is automatically instrumented with the Open browser action (toggleable in the action's properties). If this is being blocked by a GPO, I advise contacting your IT team to allow Ranorex to install the extension.

When you start-up Google Chrome and an error message shows “Failed to load extension” Google Chrome expects a browser extension that does not exist anymore and throws the error message “Manifest file is missing or unreadable”.
The first thing you should have done is reinstalling Google Chrome. If this doesn’t work, you should follow this additional steps as described below.
First, we start with renaming the Google Chrome default folder in order to stop loading the browser extension that doesn’t exist anymore. If this doesn’t solve your problem, search for unknown Browser Extensions and reset Google Chrome.
