Hi,
I need a help. With the latest version of Ranorex (9.0), any time a test suite runs (test suites of different projects), in the log file, after every action/item, it appears this warning: 'Failed to update the cached element for folder..' . It not used to appear on the past version. I read on the forum that it was a sort of Ranorex 'bug' on the oldest versions of the software, and now it's returned. It's so annoying for me and our company because we export the log files generated by Ranorex in Jenkins to verify immediately where test failed, but now we have 'dirty' files full of this warnings. Is there a way to manage this warnings?
Failed to update the cached element for folder..
Re: Failed to update the cached element for folder..
Hi,
Have you tried to change the Report level to something else? Could you please upload a screenshot of the error (as shown in the report)? Thanks.

firts of all, thanks for your reply. These are the screenshots of the report.
Here it is the link of the other topic about this issue:

Re: Failed to update the cached element for folder..
Hi,
In this case, I would suggest to do what the error says
Simply contact support (via support form), and send them what the error requests, i.e. report, snapshot and repository (ideally, entire solution).

Hi,
ok, I'll do it. I've just tried to keep a fast solution, if anyone had noticed the same problem
Thank you so much!

Re: Failed to update the cached element for folder..
Hi f.chiari,
This is likely caused by a known issue with the new JS-based RanoreXPath evaluation feature introduced in Ranorex 9.0. Since it is only a warning, you can disregard it or disable the setting to remove the warnings. Disabling the option will not break your test, just a slight performance decrease.
Cheers,
Ned

Re: Failed to update the cached element for folder..
Hi, I had experienced the same warning since upgrading to 9.0.
I changed the settings as suggested and the warning dissappeared.
Thanks for bringing this up f.chiari, and posting a solution Ned.

Thanks Ned!!!

Hi,
There is a new Ranorex 9.0.1 available, which fixes many "JS-based xpath" option bugs (and many other bugs too)! So you should definitely try 9.0.1.
