Feature Request: Morph items in Object Repositories

Post by nickdandakis » Thu Sep 05, 2013 10:25 am

I sometimes find myself having to convert an item in my repo into a rooted folder, to further expand it's child elements. This means I have to copy the RxPath, delete the item, create the rooted folder (with the same name as the item) and then paste in the RxPath.

It would be nice to have a right click menu item that allows you to 'morph' the item into a rooted folder and vice versa.

(The reason I sometimes find myself doing so, is because I usually go for an initial scan of the whole program I'm automating, adding elements and rooted folders that I think are necessary. But when I proceed to creating the modules for objects in the repo, I realize that it would be more useful/cleaner to add some more elements.)

Hello,

There is another alternative to overcome this issue.
Alternative:
Create a new folder (with empty path); move items in the folder; right click on folder and choose "Optimize folder path"
Please let me know if this is a suiteble workaround for you.
Thank you!

Regards,
Bernhard
