Find Elements Windows 10

Post by douglas.velho » Tue Sep 10, 2019 3:26 pm

Hi everyone

I'm testing Ranorex trial version in the company that i work now.
Our application was built, layers at Magic https://www.magicsoftware.com/ and the screens at .net.
We are testing tools to automate testing and have not decided which one to purchase.
In the first tests, on windows 7, Ranorex finds the elements, but on Windows 10, it does not.

Operating system: Windows 10 Enterprise 64 bits
Ranorex 9.1.1 (last avaliable)

Is Ranorex incompatible to find elements in this case ?
I used Ranorex in another company, and i suggest to use here.
Thanks for all.

Hi,

The snapshot you posted shows a WPF technology limitation warning, which means the element recognition is limited...

Please read the description of the warning and make sure your app is not affected by the mentioned reasons. Also, try to start Ranorex Studio and/or Spy as administrator.

Thank you for answer.
You're right, it's was missing AllowTesting = Y and SpecialSwfControlNameProperty=Y in the file configuration our application.
