Forum searching

Post by Gunner1980 » Tue Dec 07, 2010 5:22 pm

For the past few months the search on these forums and on the site seems to have changed and it has been much more difficult to search posts and issues. For example I wanted to look up posts in the general questions forum that had folder & project in them and I get the below error.
The following words in your search query were ignored because they are too common words: folder project.
You must specify at least one word to search for. Each word must consist of at least 2 characters and must not contain more than 20 characters excluding wildcards.
I get this error often no matter what I type in as the search. When I search from the very top search area next to the blog link it seems to do some sort of google or yahoo search. Is this a known issue? Are there any plans to fix this? It has become very difficult to search these forums as a result of this change.

We made some improvements for the Ranorex forum search. Common words will not be ignored any more. Due to the limitation of the forum search you can only search for words with at least 4 characters.

We highly recommend to use our Google Custom Search to search for topics in the Ranorex Forum (or on the entire website):
