GDI Capture in portable mode

Hi!
While using Ranorex in portable mode (all .exe's and .dll's in local folder) GDI capture plugin does not see RawText elements (even after adding target class to GDI capture list in Spy). At the same time - if Ranorex stack installed to target system via installer - the same GDI RawText elements is readable via Spy.
But we need to make app work in portable mode/with minimal changes on target system.

How to make GDI capture work without installing full package on target machine?

Hi,

My guess is that you forgot to copy RanorexConfig'RXVERSIONNUMBER'.xml file (from your main machine to target system), which contains the definition of GDI capture list. Please follow this post:

BTW, since Ranorex 6.1, Ranorex configuration should be stored per solution, so it should no longer be required to copy the RanorexConfiguration file anymore!
