Hidden Field Repository

Post by jabrahamsen » Wed Dec 28, 2016 9:08 pm

How can I add a hard-coded hidden field on a website as a repository?

Hi,

Even if the field is hidden, you should still be able to find such field in app GUI tree shown in Ranorex Spy. The easiest way to find such field (aside going through entire GUI tree) would be finding the element via its ID (or another available attribute, e.g. classname, title, etc...).

Ask the app developers to provide you with the element ID for given field. Then you can simply use xpath like this to find the element (add this after the root element xpath):
//*[@id='elementidstring']
Once the element is found, replace '*' with correct adapter name and then simply Drag&Drop the element from spy to repository. Hope this helps?
