How secure is sharing Snapshot

Post by AutomationViaRano » Fri Aug 07, 2020 2:57 am

Ranorex Support Team,

Just wanted to confirm, how much of the information does the Snapshot contains? I wanted to know does it also contains sensitive information?
I have questions pertaining to a Web application, and if I share the Snapshot on the Ranorex Common Forum, that becomes accessible for everyone.

Could you please advice or may be users can also share their experiences too.

Thank you

As long as the displayed data in captured app are just test data, and not real one, the snapshot is pretty safe :D

Just make sure there are no visible/invisible login details anywhere in the app. Ranorex snapshot captures entire UI structure of the actually visible page/app state, which includes also invisible tags and their content. So once again, before you share the snapshot, make sure the app does not display (or contain hidden) any sensitive data.
