HOW TO make an emelement dependent just on the graphics?

Post by dugovic.milan » Tue Mar 14, 2017 10:46 am

Hi! I have a following scenario...

- It has to be entered some searching value into the searching mask which returns names of the processes
- When I search for one particular process - 2 results be displayed with the same name - with only difference in the graphics before the name of the processes
- The problem is, graphics doesn't behave as an active element so when the clickpoint is set right on the picture NOTHING HAPPENS and the process wont's start. In order to start the process you have to click on the text value, BUT - the order of the processes displayed in the resultbox changes randomly, that's why is the automation through properties such as AccessibleName or Index not possible. Any ideas how to solve this? Please refer to my screenshot.

Hi Milan,

It is hard to provide you a solution without a Ranorex Snapshot. Would it be possible for you to create and upload one?
Then we could try to find a correct path to the element.

regards,

Hi Milan,

I agree with qwertzu. Without snapshot, it's pretty hard to suggest something reliable. Basically, you will most probably have to use image validation and 'somehow' access the active element via relationship with associated image. But as mentioned, without snapshot, it's impossible for us to provide something more detailed ;)
