How to skip a keyboard sequence

Post by shashank02 » Tue Oct 13, 2020 9:24 am

Hi,
How can we disable a keyboard sequence for e.g "F12". We have a validation before keyboard sequence with "Continue on fail". But for one scenario we want this both keyboard sequence and "Continue on fail" to be disabled and for other scenario both Keyboard sequence and "Continue on fail" should be enabled.

Regards
Shashank

Hi,

There is no way to dynamically disable recording actions, and their properties, during test run. Definitely not possible without digging into Ranorex API, which may not even be not public for this particular scenario?

I think your best hope is to create a separate recording, enclosed in conditional smart folder and simply run this recording, instead of the other one, based on certain condition (e.g. particular data connector variable). Here is how it may look in your test suite:

Code: Select all

TestSuite
|_TestCase
    |_SmartFolder - SF with condition
    | |_RecordingA
    |_SmartFolder - SF with condition
        |_RecordingB
