Image Validation

Post by hdesousa » Thu Aug 01, 2019 5:17 pm

I'm evaluating the software and have an issue. I have a application that display an images then does some processing and display the result images of the processing. This windows application just updates the end result image so the window title is always the same. I want to automated the validation that the images are correct. here are the ranorex step i did that do not work

1- start recording
2- a few mouse clicks records
3- set Image based Recording, then validate. click on the image before the processing happens. use the compare option.
4- a few more clicks records
5- set Image based Recording, then validate. click on the image that has the processing results. use the compare option..
6- stop the recording.

All images in the ranorex application look fine but when i do the run test i get fail.

when i get to the step 3, it uses the images from step 5 which fails. How can i set the images to used with each step.

Hi hdesousa,

There is likely some minor difference with the reference image and the real image as the expected similarity is 100% by default. In order to better understand what is occurring, set the two validation actions to "continue on fail", and enable the two properties pictured below. Once complete, run the test again and provide the resulting compressed report. We should be able to see the match percent and the differences in the images.

Also note, your evaluation is fully supported. You can contact us at [email protected] for a full demo and assistance with issues such as this.

I hope this helps!
