Impact of deselecting manifest files for sap automation on web and windows scripts

Post by danuk » Fri Nov 08, 2019 7:52 am

Hi Team,

We are planning to automate a SAP application using Ranorex 8.1.1. I have completed all the steps in the user guide testing-sap-applications except deselecting the Ranorex exe Manifest files.

Could you please tell us whether this step can affect out already developed scripts for web and windows application automation.

Also, in case it creates any issues for the already developed scripts for web and windows application automation, is it possible to toggle the manifest files on and off as per the suite I'm running windows/SAP.

Regards,
Danu Kalathingal.

Hello Danu,

Disabling the manifest file during the installation process is only recommended if the element recognition for SAP doesn't work. It usually doesn't affect other plug-ins or technologies. You can enable/disable the manifest files by running the Ranorex setup even if Ranorex is already installed. Just select "Change" on the setup dialog and you can select or deselect the manifest files.

Bernhard
