Inconsistencies with EnsureVisible

Post by acalhoun » Wed Apr 23, 2014 6:58 pm

I'm using Ranorex 5.0.1 with Win7 and am seeing some inconsistencies with using EnsureVisible. It is working for some objects, but not for others (specifically working with flex objects at the moment). In some cases a button on one page works, but not a button on another page. In another instance it does not work for a column header in a table, but does for an empty cell in the same table which does not get me what I need. I'm also having problems with drop down. I've asked a developer for help and a possible pattern for the buttons is that the ones that are working seem to be older mx components, while the ones that aren't working are the newer spark components, but that could just be a coincidence.

I've also tried using the other invoke action options available in Ranorex studio and have had some luck with Press for the buttons, but have not found a workable solution for the column headers or drop downs. Any ideas why it would not work for some objects?

I have read through several other posts regarding ensure visible, but haven't found anything that seems to solve my immediate problem. I don't have much coding experience, so I'm trying to avoid trying some of the custom code solutions until I have exhausted other options.

Hello acalhoun,

Thank you for the snapshot file.
Can you please be more specific which button cannot made visible.
Unfortunately it is hard to analyze your issues without having access to your application.
Would it be possible to get access to your application and a small sample solution in order to analyze the issue in more detail?
If you don't want to post additional information into our forum you can also send an email to [email protected].
