I have used Instant Tracking in the past to find ComboBox lists in a Flash application. I have tried it with the 3.02 version of Spy and it does not seem to work. Has anyone else had problems with this? Am I missing something?

Instant Tracking should work as expected, even in 3.0.2 and we changed nothing there. What happens if you use Instant Tracking? Ranorex spy hangs or the element is not found?JoeR wrote:I have used Instant Tracking in the past to find ComboBox lists in a Flash application. Re: Instant Tracking
OK, upon further investigation. I am using a Dell Vostro laptop. It only has one win key and it does not work with instant tracking. I tried it on another desktop computer where we have Ranorex installed. That machine has 2 win keys on the keyboard. Instant Tracking works on that machine using the LWin key. It appears that if a keyboard does not have 2 win keys then Instant Tracking does not work.

Re: Instant Tracking
Hi,
Then Ranorex is not able to identify the correct one. I will file a bug, that it should make no difference which "WIN" key you press to use instant tracking.

Re: Instant Tracking
Peter,
I'm having this problem as well. I'm using an external keyboard that is attached to my laptops docking station. Pressing Ctrl-L<win> or Ctrl-R<win> does nothing.
Do you have a fix for this, or maybe a patch? This is going to be a big deal for me as I'm using just the Visual Studio IDE and the Spy to record objects for my project. If I were to "record" with the Ranorex IDE I would get the correct xpath for the object, but when we make out new purchases here I think we're only going for the Professional version which doesn't include studio.
Any help?
Thanks,
Jason

Re: Instant Tracking
Hi,
Sorry but currently there is no solution for it. We already have a feature request on our roadmap. There will be a configuration interface for the button that you can map another button for instant tracking. This feature should be available with 3.2.
