Instrumented app unable to start

Hello

I am having troubles to start my app. Every time I try to open it, it simply "blinks", I mean it just opens and closes. This is happening after I upgraded to the last Ranorex version, because until I did that, everything was working fine.

It is happening only when I install the app using the "Deploy App" option from Ranorex Studio. I already tried to install it manually in the device and it works as expected.

I've tried removing the Device from the list and uninstalling every related software (my app, Ranorex Services and Ranorex Browser), unplugging the device and starting all over again, but the error is still there.

Here you have all the software that I'm using

Ranorex version: 5.1.0.18625
Ranorex Services Version: 1.6.0
Device: Samsung Galaxy S4 - GT-I9505
Android version: 4.3

Note: The app is visible under "Instrumented Apps". I also tried to start the app from Ranorex Studio (right click over the app name and Start App) but it does the same (the app "flash" in the device but does not remain open)

Hello David,

Thank you for the ADB log file. In the new version we are using a newer version of the APKTool to instrument android applications.
May I ask if it is possible to send us your app in order to analyze the issue in more detail. You can also send your *.apk file to [email protected] if you don't want to post it in our forum.

Hi David,

Thank you for sending the *.apk file. It seems that you are using Xamarin in order to create your application.
Unfortunately we have some issues instrumenting Xamarin apps at the moment. Our development team is working on a fix at the moment and I hope we can release a bug fix version containing this fix soon.

Hello

Thank you for the last fix (5.1.1) but sadly it is still not working... Just was wondering if you know any possible work around for this case, or if you need any more information about my scenario.

Can you tell me what the solution was, i have the exact same issue with an instrumented Xamarin iOS app.

Unfortunately I'd need additional information about your application under test and your system.
Therefore, please let me know which version of Ranorex you are currently using and if it is possible to provide the ipa file in question.
