Jenkins is looking for a very specific version of Edge

Post by tiffin.filion » Thu Nov 05, 2020 1:28 am

Our tests are working fine on our computers, however, when we try running through Jenkins it always fails attempting to open Edge.
"Failed to activate Windows app "MicrosoftEdge' from app family 'Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge_8wekyb3d8bbwe'."

Why is it looking for such a specific file? We've upgraded to the most recent version of Ranorex and Edge. Uninstalled and reinstalled the extension, I'm not sure what else we could try. Any ideas?

Hi,

Please make sure you are using the most recent Ranorex version (currently 9.3.3). And then make sure the Open Browser action uses EdgeChromium option.

Oh so Edge is the old version and Edge(Chromium) is the new one? Thanks!
