Hi,
I have automated my metro application using Ranorex. Then I have opened the same solution in Visual Studio 2012. When running the application from VS I am getting 'RanorexException was unhandled' error.
It gives the message 'The executable needs to be restarted with UI access rights. In order to debug the process, please run your IDE as administrator.' I tried disabling UAC in my machine but my application is not working when disable it.
Kindly help me to get around this.
Thanks
Logesh.

Hi,
Do you have also tried to start VS as administrator?

Markus

Thanks Markus for your reply.
Yes, I tried starting the VS & Ranorex studio as administrator but no luck and still getting the same error.
Thanks.

Re: Metro App - Unhandled exception in ranorex
Hello,
This seems to be an issue with the privileges. If you start the test with Ranorex Studio it is possible to enable the setting 'Use UiaLauncher to elevate privileges for processes started by tools'. You can also execute the test using the command line.
Please read the section "Windows Apps (aka Windows 8 UI Apps)" on our user guide in order to get additional information how to use the UIALauncher.
Regards,
Bernhard
