Hi friends,
I have created a recording module for one application scenario in Windows7 using version 5.4.4.
I have upgraded my OS from Windows7 to Windows10 & executing the same recording module.
The following error is been displayed...
'The type or namespace name 'Ranorex' could not be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?) (CS0246)'
Do i need to update the Ranorex version?
Thanks,
Rakesh
Migration Issue
Re: Migration Issue
It is always best to reinstall any software after you upgrade Windows from one version to another.
The upgrade of Windows over-writes libraries and the registry, in many cases, and can leave software in an unusable state.
And, yes, it is almost always best to update Ranorex when a new version is released, but I think re-installing Ranorex 5.4.4 should be enough.
Also, you may need to install .NET 3.0 in order to be able to use Ranorex, as .NET 3.0 is not installed by default on Windows 10.
To do a clean install of Ranorex:
1. Uninstall Ranorex from your system.
2. Reboot.
3. Install Ranorex from the executable (Ranorex-5.4.5.exe).
