Ranorex 5.3.2
Windows 7
When adding actions to the action table in a recording module and the XPath of the object contains a repository variable that has already been added to the module's variable list manually, the variable shows the grey icon ('Not In Use') instead of the repo icon ("In use from Repository").
1. Create a new recording module.
2. Create a repo item with a variable in the XPath.
3. Create the same variable manually in the module's variable list and close the dialog.
4. Drag the repo item into the action table.
5. Open the module variable dialog -> The variable's icon is the Not-In-Use icon instead of the Repo icon.
If you delete the variable from the list at this point, close the dialog and then re-open the dialog it shows correctly that the variable is now in use from the repo.
Looks like the repo variable is not over-riding the manually added variable, or that there needs to be some sort of de-confliction.
