We are new to Ranorex and new to Automated testing in general. We use a lot of “in-house” design and built software. One thing we cannot figure out is how to get Ranorex to validate if a field is Read Only. We are using Ranorex 8.3
Any help would be appreciated!

Hi,
Validation of ReadOnly field should not be different from editable field. Just run the recorder, switch it to validation mode and then select the field you want to validate and finally follow the recording/validation steps.
If you are new to Ranorex, I would strongly recommend to start with Ranorex Screencasts, (available here) and also Ranorex webinars (available here). These are great start for anyone starting with Ranorex
