We can only recommend 2.6.4 because NUnit 3.0 is still in BETA. Ranorex will work with any version you choose, but to experience less issues on NUnit side I suggest you stick with the latest stable version 2.6.4. That being said I do not recommend you start using NUnit if you do not have to use it. MS Test in Visual Studio does not require a third party test runner. Ranorex also integrates directly into many test management software, as well as many continuous integration software, so a unit test base is not required to integrate Ranorex into many existing systems/environments. Also, user code (especially in Visual Studio) using strictly the Ranorex API is not supported, but test developed in Ranorex studio are supported by a great staff of people who are here to help you succeed. Inclusion of Ranorex modules via class library (references) is usually the best way to use NUnit or MS Test, and yet still be supported under the license agreement. How you use NUnit or MS Test is important!

This message is written in middle 2017, so please check http://nunit.org for current information on the latest stable version.

Also, I just completed a proof-of-concept solution in NUnit 2.6.4, so if you send email to [email protected], then I will send you a link on where to download it.
