Hi,
I recently upgraded Ranorex from 5.1.2 to 5.3.0. The objects in my existing Solution which I had recorded earlier in Ranorex 5.1.2 are not being recognized after I upgraded to 5.3.0.
My Windows version: Windows 7 SP1
Kindly let me know how to proceed.
Thanks,
Harini.
Objects in Solution not recognized after upgrading Ranorex
Re: Objects in Solution not recognized after upgrading Ranorex
Hi,
It's hard to say what's wrong without more details about your AUT(tested technology), used xpaths and especially without seeing Ranorex snapshot. Could you please provide these details?
Additionally, Ranorex 5.3.0 introduced some breaking changes! Have you read the release notes?
And finally, I would personally recommend not to use 5.3.0, which proved to be a bit buggy Get the latest 5.3.2 instead.

Re: Objects in Solution not recognized after upgrading Ranorex
I would agree with Pavel on all counts.
You should always upgrade to the latest bug patch available. 5.3.2 has several fixes over 5.3.0.
Also, have you tried using Ranorex Spy to validate that the XPath in your repository is correct. It could be that the XPaths have changed due to changes in Ranorex since 5.1.x.
