On Win8 metro, compiled exe file couldn't recognize

Post by marcushe » Thu Dec 19, 2013 8:30 am

Environment: Win8 En,64bit
Tried Tool:Ranorex4.0.4/4.1.4
Steps:
1. we have a installed Metro APP
2. writed a Ranorex script & compile
3. Executed .exe
4. Script was searching for a button, however ,after timeout , it failed. In log , it 's stating no button was found with that Ranorex path.
4-- then , i launched MyTest.rxtst with Ranorex TestSuit Runner and clicked run , it worked fine.
4------ i tried to execute MyTest.exe with right clicking the exe to select "run as administrator" , it still finished with no button found

Maybe something wrong with .exe???Although in user guide , .exe file is refered as compiled testsuite.
Or maybe you could afford a command param to Ranorex.TestSuiteRunner.exe with which we can launch .exe file automatically without having to click run
I thought the root cause would be about priviledge??

Hello marcushe,

It might be that Ranorex does not have enough rights to start your application.
Please try to use our UiaLauncher as shown in our General Troubleshooting page for Windows 8 UI apps.

Please let me know if you need more information regarding your issue.

Regards,
