Paste from Clipboard failed: Sequence contains more...

Post by AdrianMY » Thu Jun 01, 2017 10:25 am

The full error I get is:

---------------------------
Ranorex Test Suite
---------------------------
Paste from Clipboard failed: Sequence contains more than one matching element
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

To replicate this in a project:
1. Create a module group.
2. Add a recording that requires 2+ bound variables.
3. Bind both of these to the same constant.
4. Try to create a copy of the module group (copy and paste).

It appears that reuse of the constant at any point results in this problem.

I believe this is introduced post-Ranorex 6x. I've upgraded my 7x to 7.0.1 and replicated this.

Going to have to try and workaround this to continue with my work today. I do get many module groups that are 'variations' of existing ones and - naturally - want to avoid starting from scratch each time!

Hello AdrianMY,

Thanks to your detailed information and steps, I was able to duplicate the issue locally. I have added this issue into our internal bug tracking software to be further investigated by our developers. Currently, we do not know if and when this issue will be fixed. This depends on various factors. Nevertheless, all new features, updates, and bug fixes are documented in the release notes with every new version release of Ranorex.

In the meantime, you will need to use multiple constants for each module in order to copy/paste the modules within the module group.

Kind Regards,
Ned
