Hello,

The error message stated that the Ranorex installation doesn't work properly "Failed to load default plugins. Please reinstall Ranorex.", so do you have already tried to reinstall Ranorex?

If not please reinstall it, but please take the setup.exe file for the installation, as this exe will automatically install the needed packages too. Please remove the 'Plugins' folder from '%ProgramData%\Ranorex3\' folder before reinstalling Ranorex.

Hello Markus,

I have the same problem that adoniskzin has (ref. to first mail). I tried to reinstall Ranorex in both Win XP SP2 (32 bit & 64 Bit) and Windows 7. The result was the same.

But I want to state some differences according to your reply:

You wrote:

I don't have any "setup.exe" besides the link http://www.ranorex.com/download/Ranorex-3.3.3.exe ... So how can I obtain it? And the exe I have do not create '%ProgramData%\Ranorex3\' folder.

Hello,

You can download the Ranorex 3.3.3.zip file from our Download area.

You might not have the folder '%ProgramData%\Ranorex3' on Windows XP.

This error means that Ranorex cannot find some of its vital resources, i.e. the main core or plugin DLLs. We are not sure why this can happen, but we suspect the installer to fail if the installation is done while some Ranorex components are still running.

If you experience the above error, please make sure that no Ranorex components are running. Then uninstall all currently installed Ranorex versions and reboot the machine afterwards.
After the reboot, please reinstall the Ranorex version you want to use and try to start Studio again.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled a few times actually but without rebooting the machine. I will try that asap and will inform you guys of the outcome.

I've also added the error report as attachment.

Thanks.

HI Arda Unal,

You have not replied to this thread any more, so I guess rebooting fixed the problem eventually?

Yes, yes, rebooting solved the problem. My apologies for the late response.

Maybe, it would be better if Ranorex directs the users to reboot instead of directing them to start and use the software.

A reboot is usually not needed, unless Ranorex files are still in use when uninstalling; i.e. if you still got a Ranorex program running. In that case, the MSI installer should actually warn you about the files in use and ask you to close them (or a reboot will be required otherwise). However, it seems that MSI functionality is not too reliable :?
