Problems with UIImagePickerController

Post by JToelstede » Thu Jan 09, 2014 1:09 pm

Hi,

In our iOS-app we have a table where every cell represents a file.
One way to add a file to that list is to import a file out of the photo album of the device.
For this functionality we use the UIImagePickerController with the sourcetype sourceType = UIImagePickerControllerSourceTypePhotoLibrary
When the PUCollectionView, which is used by the UIImagePickerController internal, is displayed I tap on the first picture in the list but nothing happen.

Is that functionality not supported by Ranorex?

I use Ranorex 4.1.3 with the libRxAutomationUni_413.a.
The test device is an iPad with iOS 7.0.4.

Thanks a lot.
Best Regards,
Joerg

Hi Joerg,

What does normally happen when you tap on the picture of the list?
Is the picture showed? If yes, how? Is another app used to show it, or is it just displayed in the current app?
Can you track the image/element after you tapped on the picture?

Please also send us a Ranorex snapshot file of your app, this will help us to get a better understanding of your app.
The following link will show you how to generate a snapshot file: Creating Ranorex Snapshot Files.

Thanks,
Markus

Hi Markus,

our app is a cloud client and with this function you are able to import a picture from the iOS device into the cloud.
The UIImagePickerController itself is build in a popover of our app and normally when you tap on the picture a new popover is displayed where you can choose the location for this file in the cloud and you are able to give this file a name.

Yesterday we debugged the app with integrated Ranorex-Agent and found the following logs in the console.
UIImagePicker.jpg
UIImagePicker.jpg (95.45 KiB) Viewed 1154 times
The hole log appears on each tap on a picture.

I hope that this information help you.

Best Regards,
Joerg

Hello Joerg,

This is a known issue and we are working on a fix at the moment.
Unfortunately I cannot give you a time frame at the moment when the issue will be fixed.
