Random overnight test reports not showing in MTM

Post by Andrew Simpson » Mon May 08, 2017 9:52 am

RX version 7
Local VM running windows server 2012r2
Source control and CI: VSO 2013, MTM 2013

Hi,

Not sure if this is an issue with Ranorex or MTM thought Id just post it on here to see if anyone else has had the issue. We run our overnight tests on an application server using Microsoft Test Manager, and analyse the reports through it but have noticed this week the with certain tests that the rxlog is not showing as it should sio we are not able to access the ranorex report. As these tests are run on the application server I have searched that environment for copies of the .rxlog files but they do not appear to be there so making analysis of the test run very difficult

Any help would be appreciated

If you run the test(s) directly without MTM, do the reports generate on the VM machine? What about on your dev machine?

Are you using any custom reporting settings? Please check your Report settings, and compare to a new solution's report settings. Make sure you have "Enable Report" Checked. If you changed any settings here, especially directory, it could cause issues on the VMmachine (perhaps that directory does not exist on the VM machine).

Last but not least, you can try deleting this file:

%appdata%\RanorexRecentReports.dat

Hope this helps!
