Ranorex 5.2.2 do not recognize Chrome 40.0.2

Hi,
i am having a problem with Ranorex 5.2.2 and Chrome 40.0.2. Ranorex do not see pages in Chrome, i can recognize it with track system, but after save/update it do not see it again. Extension is installed, i even tried to uninstall and install it back from the play market.
Do you have any ideas how can i solve this problem?

Ranorex 5.2.2 and Chrome 40.0.2 work fine for me.

Does your Ranorex install work with other browsers?

You might try a clean reinstall of both the Chrome extension and Ranorex itself.

Works fine with IE11. I already tried to re-install plugin and i am not sure that Ranorex re-installation will help

Please also check if the Ranorex plugin is enabled in Chrome.

As Bernhard said, make sure the extension is enabled in Chrome. It isn't automatically enabled when installed in some cases.

IE11 is not necessarily a good indicator. IE is instrumented differently than the other browsers because it is built into Windows.

Have you tried Firefox?

Also, have you tried it on other systems with Rx 5.2.2 and Chrome 40.0.2?

Can you give us more information about the issue please?
Which page cannot be recognized? Is it possible to get access to the webpage?
Maybe it is a page based on Flash?
Did you already try to re-install the Ranorex Chrome plugin?

Have you found a solution yet/or again?
For we are facing the same issue again with Chrome 43.0.2357.132 m and Ranorex 5.0.1.17706.
"Ranorex Automation"-Plugin is actived and it was tested with the version uploaded in the market and the version delivered with ranorex.

The Ranorex Spy is not working on Chrome either.

Do you have any hints how to solve this Issue?

Hi,

Ranorex 5.0.x is pretty old and no longer supported version of Ranorex. I would suggest you to try the latest version 5.4. If it does not work even with the latest version, please let us know some more details about the tested page (Ranorex snapshot would be extremely useful), your OS, does it work with other browsers, etc...

Ranorex 5.0.x is no longer supported. Update to a newer, supported version. You SHOULD update to Ranorex 5.4.0 (latest version) in order to ensure you get all bug fixes and can get support.


As to your question, Chrome 43 is NOT SUPPORTED with Ranorex 5.0.

Chrome made breaking changes to the way Chrome extensions are installed (they must be from the Chrome web store). You MUST update to Ranorex 5.1.0 or later in order to work with Chrome versions greater than 34 because the new Ranorex extension does not work with older versions of Ranorex.


EDIT TO ADD: If you want support from Ranorex with newer versions of browsers or other software, you MUST keep your license valid and update Ranorex software (this is very clear in their licensing).
