Greetings Ranorexers
I have recently downloaded the latest Ranorex version of 9.0 to test the new features, however I have one small issue.
Upon completion of a test, the video recording file generated will always be a Matroska file 0 bytes in size.
Must I have ffmpeg installed for this feature to work?
Thanks

A clean Ranorex test suite will get you clean results.

Re: Ranorex 9.0 test video recording
Hi Ranorexers
It appears that Ranorex 9.0 is bundled with its own ffmpeg binary, so you needn't worry about not having it installed.
The issue was that my resolution's height was not evenly divisble by 2, and ffmpeg would commit suicide at the beginning of each test.
I changed my resolution slightly and it works now.
Thanks

Re: Ranorex 9.0 test video recording
This helped me a lot, since I first thought my recordings were at 0kb because of the remote connection and recording issues with that. But, as it seems, it's due to the unconventional resolution I chose for it. So thank you very much for your help

Hi everyone,
Thank you for your posts.
I'm happy to inform you, that this should be fixed in our next release (Ranorex 9.0.1).
Please let us know if you're still getting empty video files afterwards.
regards,
Stephan
