Ranorex and polymer #shadow-root

Post by Vernogen » Thu Nov 09, 2017 1:54 pm

One of my clients is using Ranorex for test automation. They've been using the tool for quite some time however recently ran into a problem with the shadow-root structure which is used in Polymer. Ranorex does not properly recognize anything in this shadow dom.
Now I've found an old topic from Nov 2015 stating that Ranorex does not support this. Is there any update regarding this issue, should Ranorex already support it and if not when will it be doing so?

Hello Vernogen,

Unfortunately, we have not seen enough customer interest in this feature yet. A user voice entry has been created in September but up to this point it has received only one vote. I would suggest that you also place your vote and leave a comment on the Ranorex User Voice platform: Object identification for shadow DOMs support

We will keep you updated when there are any news regarding the Shadow Dom implementation.

I hope this helps.

Sincerely,
Tomaž
