Ranorex APIs

Post by Santhosh » Wed Feb 26, 2020 8:48 am

Dear Team,

how could I use Ranorex APIs to APIs of any TestManagement Tool (like ZAPIs of “Zephyr for Jira” or ReST APIs of “Test Management for Jira” ) to achieve below use cases.

i) I could link a Test_Case in Ranorex to a Test_Case in TM4J on Jira.
ii) Automated Test Execution Report is linked to the Test-Management Tool for the ran Tests by Ranorex (Migrate Test-Execution Results).
iii) Run/Start a TestCase from Test Management Tool UI ( on Jira-Server).
iv) Get test run report on Test Management Tool UI (on Jira-Server).
Please suggest.

Is it possible to link more than one data sources with a test.
However, if it is possible programmatically to
a) Associate more than one datasources with a TestCase
b) Bind variables to datasources (provided all the data sources have same column-headers)
c) Add rule to meet a condition for choose one of the associated datasources
d) Iterate through rows.

If yes, could you please share code snippets to help me.

Hi,

I've already answered most of your questions in second part of your today's post. Please check my answers in your previous post here:
https://www.ranorex.com/forum/data-driv ... tml#p58943

As for the integration with test management tools, I think you must first follow the steps in Ranorex user guide and available webinars. There is definitely no step-by-step and end2end guide for Ranorex integration with every test management tool! You must simply follow the basics steps and eventually adapt them for your given set of tools. But of course, some integrations may not be possible, due to lack of official support on either side (bot Ranorex and test management tool of your choice). So I would suggest you to start here (check both User guide and Blog links):

And of course, you may find many questions answered at this forum.
