I am running Ranorex 5.2.2 on a Windows 10 64-bit PC with the Creators update. Testing is being done against a desktop application.
I am running a test that has a 'validate not exists step' but when it reaches this point the Ranorex exe gives the message 'has stopped working'. I have to close the exe and this causes you to lose all the reporting for that test run.
This also happens whenever Ranorex is looking for an element that does not exist. In this case though the element not being there is the expected result.
This problem is not present on Windows 7.
Has anyone had experience with this before?
Thanks,
mikel
Ranorex exe not responding when element not present
Re: Ranorex exe not responding when element not present
Hi,
I'm afraid, version 5.x is a pretty old and no longer supported version. You will have to update your existing version and project with most recent 9.3.1 and see if the problem still exists there.
BTW, I think you will first have to update to 7.x, because solutions created with version older than 7.x cannot be directly updated with 9.x.
