Hello,
is Ranorex 9 Runtime able to run tests created with Ranorex 8 Studio?
Ranorex Runtime backward compatibility
Re: Ranorex Runtime backward compatibility
Hi,
Of course, Ranorex 9 is able to run tests created with Ranorex 8. The solution just have to be converted to 9.0 format. If you load a pre-9.0 solution in 9.0, there will be issued a conversion dialog.
BTW, before converting solution to 9.0, make sure you have working copy of solution stored in source control system of your choice and don't forget to read what's new in 9.0, mainly "Breaking changes" section!

Re: Ranorex Runtime backward compatibility
Thank you for the response.
That means, it's not possible to run tests without conversion?
We have different teams working with Ranorex 8 and 9, but one testing machine with Runtime on it.
I was wondering if it's compatible without conversion, so that we wouldn't need another testing system.

Hi,
I'm afraid, it's not possible to run existing 8.x solution with 9.x runtimes.
