Ranorex screen capture of object is not centered properly

Post by dochoa » Thu Jun 19, 2014 9:39 pm

Using:
Operating System: Windows 7 Professional Service Pack 1
Ranorex Version: 5.0.1.17706
Browser Version: IE10 v10.0.9200.16921

Currently when using the Spy or Recorder the area outlined around the control I am identifying will be North West of where is should be on the screen.

Using IE developer tools the object is outlined correctly, see attached IEdeveloperToolRecognition.JPG.

Using Ranorex the outline given to the discovered object is off center, see attached RanorexSpyRecognition.jpg (screen shot was taken while using spy and hovering over object).

This is causing me to sometimes use Click Lower Right when I should be able to use Click Center because of the offset. This is occurring with all objects.

Is there a way to correct this? I have tried to look through the Ranorex options but did not find one.

Hi,

Could it be that the zoom level of IE is not set to 100%?
May I also ask if the Enable search by unique ID setting is enabled?
If so, may I ask you to disable it and to check if Ranorex is now able to outline the element correctly?
You find the setting in the Generaltab of the Settings window as shown below:

Markus

Thank you, Markus, I'll give it a try.
