Good afternoon,
I´m using the Trial Test of the Ranorex Studio, and during some tests on a Delphi application (Delphi XE8), while using the Ranorex Spy, the studio tends to shut down/close abruptly. It already happened on many forms, registers and buttons, when inspecting using the Spy.
Since I am having a positive run through with the Studio, I would like to know if this is really a bug, and if not, what I can do to avoid the Studio to shut down. The frequency is pretty high, ranging between every 10 to 30 minutes (many times, losing unsaved project modifications).
Ranorex Spy - Shutting down Ranorex
Re: Ranorex Spy - Shutting down Ranorex
Hi,
I’m afraid, it’s impossible to tell what’s wrong without seeing the problem in action or without having access to the problematic app (or Delphi sample app).
The best you can probably do is to contact directly support and request a remote session with them, so they may be able to see the problem and eventually analyse it directly on your machine.
BTW, please make sure you are using most recent Ranorex 9.3.2.

Re: Ranorex Spy - Shutting down Ranorex
Hi,
I faced the same issue in version 10.1.5 and it seems to be a bug.
Btw, I only experienced this when I used the in-built Ranorex Spy.
Starting the "external" version of Ranorex Spy never caused this again.
Greetings,
Gyuri

Hi,
If standalone Spy works fine and fails only the integrated one, then I would say that the crash is caused by different Ranorex settings? Please go to Ranorex Studio >> integrated Spy >> Settings and here Export its settings to file. Then go to standalone Spy and export its settings too (to different file). Then please publish both files here (zipped). Also, please publish Ranorex snapshot (NOT screenshot) of the app under test. Thanks.
